In February 1998, the publicly owned bank Nord/LB and Han BG (which is wholly owned by the Land of Lower Saxony) purchased from Preussag AG 99.8% of the shares of its subsidiary, PSAG, which was subsequently renamed Salzgitter AG - Stahl und Technologie (SAG).
