To conclude, I feel that we have taken an important step forward, and for this reason, the Group of the European People’s Party (Christian Democrats) and European Democrats supports this directive, although we do believe that it should have gone a bit further, specifically with regard to the position of European citizens who reside in other Member States, and especially those who suffer from chronic ailments.
En guise de conclusion, je dirais que nous avons accompli un grand pas en avant et pour cette raison le groupe du parti populaire européen (démocrates-chrétiens) et des démocrates européens soutient cette directive, même si nous trouvons qu’elle aurait dû aller un peu plus loin, surtout en ce qui concerne la position des citoyens européens résidant dans un autre État membre et surtout ceux qui souffrent d’affections chroniques.
