When you cut me off for your very interesting speech, which I am sure our fellow citizens throughout the Union will have found fascinating, I simply wanted to raise a point that the Commissioner himself raised, which is that corporate social responsibility cannot – he is absolutely right – replace compliance with the law and the responsibilities of the Member States.
Au moment où vous m’avez interrompu pour votre très intéressante intervention, qui aura dû passionner, j’en suis certain, nos concitoyens dans toute l’Union, je voulais notamment évoquer un point que le commissaire lui-même à évoqué: c’est que la responsabilité sociale des entreprises – il a parfaitement raison - ne peut pas remplacer le respect de la loi et les responsabilités des États.
