In the Commission, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President will be responsible for the project of 'A Stronger Global Actor', helping steer all of the Commission's external relations activities.

(14) With the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty, the function of High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, which is at the same time Vice-President of the Commission for External Relations, has been created with the aim of increasing the impact and coherence of the EU's external relations.

Also attending will be Claude Moraes (UK-PES), MEP and author of the EP's Report on the Commission's Communication, Michel Biart, assistant head of the European Commission's employment analysis unit, Luc Van den Brande, rapporteur for the CoR's Commission for External Relations, and Peter Moore (UK-ELDR), member of the CoR's Commission for Economic and Social Policy.

At the instigation of the Mayor of Livorno, Gianfranco Lamberti (PES), member of the CoR Commission for External Relations, a Euro-Mediterranean conference entitled Towards a new European area will be held on 31 October.
