rrounding it which, immersed in democratic reform processes and guided by the legitimate democratic aspirations of their peoples, see in Iran exactly what they do not want for themselves, and that is what we

– (ES) Mijnheer de Voorzitter, mevrouw Ashton, ik ben heel blij dat de hoge vertegenwoordiger blijk geeft van een tweesporenbenadering waarin op vrijwel gelijke voet gesproken wordt over de mensenrechten en over het nucleaire thema. Voor de wereld, en voor de omringende landen van Iran die op dit moment verwikkeld zijn in democratische hervormingsprocessen en geleid worden door de legitieme wensen van de bevolking, is Iran namelijk allesbehalve een rolmodel, omdat zij in dat land precies datgene zien wat zij voor zichzelf niet willen. Dat is wat wij aan de kaak stellen in het verslag dat mogelijk morgen zal worden goedgekeurd.
