De exploitant rekent ten minste de volgende potentiële bronnen van CO-uitstoot mee: grondstoffen (branden van kalksteen, dolomiet en ijzercarbonaaterts, waaronder FeCO); conventionele brandstoffen (waaronder aardgas en cokes/cokesbries); procesgassen (waaronder cokesovengas en hoogovengas); procesresidu’s die worden gebruikt als ingezet materiaal, inclusief gefilterd stof van de sinterinstallatie, de convertor en de hoogoven; andere brandstoffen en rookgasreiniging.
