The text needs to be aligned with the definition of ‘other MFIs’ in Article 1 of Regulation ECB/2008/32 of 19 December 2008 concerning the balance sheet of the monetary financial institutions sector (Recast) (3).

This applies to both the standard refinancing operations offered by the Eurosystem to euro area Monetary Financial Institutions (MFIs) and to the non-standard measures introduced during the financial crisis.

1. This Regulation sets out provisions for strengthening the economic and budgetary surveillance of Member States experiencing or threatened with serious difficulties with respect to their financial stability and/or that receive or may receive financial assistance from one or several other States, the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF), the European Financial Stability Mechanism (EFSM), the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) or other International Financial Institutions (IFI), such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
1. In deze verordening worden voorschriften vastgesteld ter versterking van het economische en budgettaire toezicht op lidstaten die ernstige moeilijkheden ondervinden of dreigen te ondervinden ten aanzien van hun financiële stabiliteit en/of die financiële bijstand van een of meer andere staten, de Europese Faciliteit voor financiële stabiliteit (EFSF), het Europees financieel stabilisatiemechanisme (EFSM), het Europees Stabiliteitsmechanisme (ESM) of andere Internationale financiële instellingen (IFI) , zoals het Internationaal Monetair Fonds (IMF), ontvangen of kunnen ontvangen.

(11a) In general macro-financial assistance should be complementary to the resources provided by the International Monetary Fund and other European or multilateral financial institutions and there should be a fair burden sharing with those institutions and other donors.
