The International Standards ISO 5815 and 5815-2: 2003 stipulate that in order to carry out the analysis to determine biochemical oxygen demand after five days water samples should be stored immediately after sampling and up to the time of analysis in a brim-full, tightly sealed bottle at a temperature of 0–4 °C.
In de internationale normen ISO 5815 en 5815-2:2003 is bepaald dat, om de analyse uit te voeren voor de bepaling van de biochemische zuurstofbehoefte na vijf dagen, de watermonsters onmiddellijk na de monsterneming in een tot de rand gevulde, goed gesloten fles bij een temperatuur van 0 tot 4 °C moeten worden bewaard tot de uitvoering van de analyse.
