Nevertheless, in view of the review of the trial and the new sentence, we have seen that the technical reports that have cleared the Bulgarian nurses of blame — some of them signed by the very person who discovered the AIDS virus and by Oxford scientists — have demonstrated, by means of a philogenetic analysis of the children's virus, that this virus had arrived in Libya many years before the Bulgarian nurses arrived on Libyan soil.
Kijken we nu naar het herziene proces en het nieuwe vonnis, dan kunnen we vaststellen dat de technische rapporten waaruit de onschuld van de Bulgaarse verpleegsters is gebleken - sommige daarvan zijn zelfs ondertekend door degene die het HIV/Aids-virus heeft ontdekt of door wetenschappers van de universiteit van Oxford -, aan de hand van fylogenetisch onderzoek van het virus van de kinderen hebben aangetoond dat dit virus Libië al had bereikt ver voordat de Bulgaarse verpleegsters voet op Libische bodem zetten.
