Promoting the development and introduction of innovative solutions, including ICT- based and other technologies, for products, devices and services specifically suitable for the elderly, to help them lead more active and independent lives, such as alarm and safety systems, daily living support, fall prevention, social interaction services and home robotics, and specific access to the internet.
Bevordering van de ontwikkeling en invoering van innovatieve oplossingen, ook op basis van ICT en andere technologieën, voor producten, hulpmiddelen en diensten die bij uitstek geschikt zijn voor ouderen, om hen te helpen een actiever en zelfstandiger leven te leiden, zoals alarm- en veiligheidssystemen, hulp in het leven van alledag, valpreventie, diensten op het gebied van sociale interactie, robots voor thuisgebruik en speciale toegang tot internet.

31. Notes that technological innovation may be beneficial to society at large; is concerned, however, about new risks brought about as a result of these changes; welcomes, in this context, the Commission’s intention to establish a network of OSH professionals and scientists in order to better address future challenges; highlights the increasing use of smart collaborative robots, for example in industrial production, hospitals and retirement homes; calls on the Commission and the Member States to identify potential OSH risks stemming from technological innovation and take appropriate measures to counter them;

L. whereas there is a strong relationship between mobility, disability and social inclusion, especially with regard to freedom and access to communication (including Braille and sign languages and other alternative forms of communication), freedom of movement in all fields of life and access to services; whereas full participation in all aspects of society needs to be promoted, bearing in mind the importance of Community policies regarding information and communications technologies, as well as home robotics and online communication solutions, and the need to move towards full accessibility by promoting compatible standards in the single market and facilitating their dissemination,
