Expresses its great concern over the negative consequences which the long-standing conflict has had on the environment in Jammu and Kashmir, to the extent that the economic future of Jammu and Kashmir is at stake due to serious soil degradation, air pollution, pollution of the rivers and, most dramatically, of the ancient tourist magnet Dal Lake, deforestation and extinction of wildlife;
7. uit zijn grote bezorgdheid over de negatieve gevolgen die het langdurige conflict heeft gehad voor het milieu in Jammu en Kasjmir, met dien verstande dat de economische toekomst van Jammu en Kasjmir op het spel staat als gevolg van ernstige bodemvervuiling, luchtverontreiniging, vervuiling van de rivieren en, wat zeer ernstig is, van de oude toeristentrekpleister Dal Lake, ontbossing en de vernietiging van wilde flora en fauna;
