Under the EU-Turkey Statement, Member States agreed to mobilise an additional €3 billion for the EU Facility for Refugees in Turkey shortly after the currently available resources had been contracted.
In het kader van de Verklaring EU-Turkije zijn de lidstaten overeengekomen om voor de EU-faciliteit voor vluchtelingen in Turkije 3 miljard euro extra uit te trekken kort nadat contracten waren gesloten voor de momenteel beschikbare middelen.

Following through on its commitment to support Syrian refugees in Turkey, the European Commission is today mobilising additional funding for the Facility for Refugees which has so far given 500.000 children access to education and is supporting 1.2 million refugees with monthly cash transfers.

Facility for Refugees in Turkey: Further EU financial support through the Facility for Refugees in Turkey has been delivered to support refugees and host communities in Turkey and programming and project preparation has been accelerated.
Faciliteit voor vluchtelingen in Turkije: de EU heeft daarnaast financiële steun beschikbaar gesteld door middel van de faciliteit voor vluchtelingen in Turkije om de vluchtelingen en gastgemeenschappen in Turkije te ondersteunen. ‘This Decision establishes a coordination mechanism - the Facility for Refugees in Turkey (“the Facility”) - to assist Turkey in addressing the immediate humanitarian and development needs of the refugees and their host communities, national and local authorities in managing and addressing the consequences of the inflow of refugees’.

The overall objective of the Facility for Refugees in Turkey is to coordinate and streamline actions financed from the Union's budget and bilateral contributions from Member States in order to enhance the efficiency and complementarity of support provided to refugees and host communities in Turkey’;

The Representatives of the Governments of the Member States discussed the financing of the coordination mechanism – the Facility for Refugees in Turkey - in December 2015 and in January 2016.
