It is widely acknowledged that the Guidelines represent best practice in universal design for the Internet, and their acceptance is spreading through a broad sector of involvement in the World Wide Web Consortium/Web Accessibility Initiative's activities.

To ensure accessibility of information on a medicinal product provided by marketing authorisation holders through the internet, the websites concerned shall conform to the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 1.0, Level A.
