Dans ce contexte, les “faibles concentrations” sont définies comme des concentrations résultant en moins de 10 colonies, dénombrées sur au moins 1 boîte de Pétri, ce qui correspond normalement à moins de 100 ou 1000 ufc/g ou ufc/ml de produit (voir la norme ISO 7218: Microbiology of food and animal feeding stuffs – General rule for microbiological examinations).
“Lage concentraties” worden hierbij omschreven als concentraties die resulteren in minder dan 10 kolonies, geteld op ten minste 1 petriplaat, wat normaal gezien overeenkomt met minder dan 100 of 1000 kve/g of kve/ml product (zie norm ISO 7218: Microbiology of food and animal feeding stuffs – General rule for microbiological examinations).

Le miel est considéré comme un produit animal conformément à la Directive 2001/110/EEC relative au miel (cf. l’Arrêté Royal du 19 mars 2004), et dès lors ne tombe pas dans le champ d'application du Règlement « GM food-feed » (sauf s'il s'agit de miel produit par des abeilles génétiquement modifiées) (voir sous le champ d’application « produits qui ne sont pas couverts »)
Honing wordt beschouwd als een product van dierlijke oorsprong, conform aan de Richtlijn 2001/110/EEC betreffende honing (cf.
