Considérant que monsieur Guido Gryseels, titulaire d'un doctorat en sciences agronomes, est Directeur général du Musée royal pour l'Afrique centrale (MRAC) à Tervuren, a travaillé pendant des années comme chercheur scientifique à l'Organisation pour l'Alimentation et l'Agriculture des Nations Unies et au Groupe consultatif de Recherche agronomique internationale, est président de l'International Congo Biodiversity Consortium, de la Program Commission for Food and Business Research in Developing Countries de l'Organisation pour la Recherche scientifique des Pays-Bas et du comité d'évaluation de ARIMNET, un consortium international pour la recherche agronome dans 14 pays méditerranéens, et dispose ainsi d'une grande connaissance de la coopération internationale; en tant que directeur général du MRAC dispose d'une grande connaissance en matière de gestion ;
Overwegende dat de heer Guido Gryseels, houder van een doctoraat in de landbouweconomie, algemeen directeur is van het Koninklijk Museum voor Midden-Afrika (KMMA) te Tervuren, jarenlang als wetenschappelijk onderzoeker verbonden was aan de Food and Agriculture Organisation van de Verenigde Naties en de Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research, voorzitter is van het International Congo Biodiversity Consortium, de Program Commission for Food and Business Research in Developing Countries van de Nederlandse Organisatie voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek en het evaluatiecomité van ARIMNET, een internationaal consortium voor landbouwonderzoek in 14 mediterrane landen, en bijgevolg over grote kennis beschikt van de internationale samenwerking; als algemeen directeur van het KMMA beschikt over een grote kennis inzake beheer;

Teneinde aan deze wil gevolg te geven, stelt uw rapporteur derhalve voor de thematische gebieden van het zesde kaderprogramma als volgt te definiëren: 1.1.1 Biowetenschappen voor gezondheid en veiligheid (1.1.1 bis Genomica en biotechnologie voor gezondheid en welzijn in de gehele wereld, en 1.1.1 ter De zwaarste ziekten); 1.1.2 Technologieën voor de informatiemaatschappij; 1.1.3 Nanotechnologieën en nieuwe productieprocédés voor geavanceerde materialen; 1.1.4 Lucht- en ruimtevaart; 1.1.5 Voedselkwaliteit, risico's voor veiligheid en gezondheid en verbetering van de gezondheid; 1.1.6 Energie, duurzame ontwikkeling, biodiversiteit en veranderingen in het aardsysteem (1.1.6.a) Energie, 1.1.6.b) Duurzame ontwikkeling en veranderingen in het aardsysteem, en 1.1.6.c) Vervoer); 1.1.7 Burgers, democratie, maatschappelijke en politieke instellingen, en 1.1.8 Anticiperen op de wetenschappelijke en technologische behoeften van de EU.

OBJECTIVES : - applying new processing techniques, including the development of new products and by-products but especially improving product quality; - rationalising through developing on the treatment and processing of agricultural products or recycling of by-products or manufacturing waste; - improving the impact on the environment by using new processing methods and utilising by-products and waste; - improving marketing channels, including the transparency of price information.
DOELSTELLINGEN : - toepassing van nieuwe verwerkingstechnieken, inclusief ontwikkeling van nieuwe produkten en bijprodukten, doch met name verbetering van de kwaliteit van het produkt; - rationalisering door ontwikkelingen op het gebied van behandeling en verwerking van landbouwprodukten of recyclage van bijprodukten of afvalprodukten; - verbeteringen op het vlak van de milieubescherming door invoering van nieuwe verwerkingsprocédés en gebruik van bijprodukten en afval; - verbetering op het vlak van het afzetcircuit waardoor o.m. de prijsinformatie duidelijker moet worden.
