La Belgique est également active sur le plan de la prévention et de la lutte contre la fraude en matière de protection sociale dans un contexte transfrontalier, par exemple à travers la conclusion de conventions bilatérales avec, entre autres, les Pays-Bas ou comme un des moteurs dans le fonctionnement du European Health Care and Corruption Network.

Cette action conjointe devrait s’appuyer sur les projets de recherche et d’innovation ci-après, encourager leur prise en compte dans la pratique clinique et exploiter leurs résultats et réalisations: «Clinical decision making and outcome in routine care for people with severe mental illness» (CEDAR) (34), «Children of Prisoners, Interventions Mitigations to Strengthen Mental Health» (COPING) (35), «European Network of Bipolar Research Expert Centres» (ENBREC), «Prevalence, 1-year incidence and symptom severity of mental disorders in the elderly: Relationship to impairment, functioning (ICF) and service utilisation» (MentDis_ICF65+) (36), «Financing systems’ effects on the Quality of Mental health care in Europe» (REFINEMENT), «A Roadmap for Mental Health Research in Europe» (ROAMER), «Save Young Lives in Europe: Promote health through prevention of risk-taking and self-destructive behaviours» (SEYLE) (37), «Tailored implementation for chronic diseases» (TICD) et «Work Together to Stop Truancy Among Youth» (WE-STAY).

La Commission a cofinancé ce projet en 2006-2007 par l’intermédiaire du projet 2005 151 «Indicators of quality of health care» et en 2009-2011 par l’intermédiaire du projet 2009 53 02«European edition of Health at a Glance and Health Care Quality Indicators: moving to the next level — HealthData».
De Commissie heeft het project in 2006-2007 medegefinancierd middels project 2005 151, „Indicatoren voor kwaliteit van gezondheidszorg” en in 2009-2011 middels project 2009 53 02, „Europese uitgave van Health at a Glance en „Health Care Quality Indicators”: op weg naar het volgende niveau — HealthData”.

En juin 2006, la task-force sur les maladies rares, financée par le programme de santé publique, a présenté au groupe de haut niveau sur les services de santé et les soins médicaux le rapport intitulé «Contribution to policy shaping: For a European collaboration on health services and medical care in the field of rare diseases» («Contribuer à la définition des politiques: pour une collaboration européenne dans le domaine des services de santé et des soins médicaux concernant les maladies rares »)[20], mettant à jour les informations relatives aux réseaux de référence en Europe.
In juni 2006 diende de uit het volksgezondheidsprogramma gefinancierde taskforce zeldzame ziekten het rapport Contribution to policy shaping: For a European collaboration on health services and medical care in the field of rare diseases[20] in bij de groep op hoog niveau inzake gezondheidsdiensten en medische zorg. In dit rapport werd de informatie over de referentienetwerken in Europa geactualiseerd.
