After signature of these agreements, the three Baltic states will be put on the same footing as the other associated countries in the region, i.e., they are considered as potential future members of the EU. This includes full participation in the pre-accession strategy adopted by the Heads of State and Governments in Essen, in the structured dialogue and in the implementation of the White Book on Internal Market.
