1 ter. Bij de toepassing van lid 1 controleert de Commissie, gedurende een periode van vijf jaar na de inwerkingtreding van de overeenkomst, met name vanuit de Republiek Korea ingevoerde eindproducten waarvan de invoer in de Europese Unie is gestegen als gevolg van het feit dat in die eindproducten in toenemende mate onderdelen of componenten worden verwerkt die in de Republiek Korea zijn ingevoerd vanuit derde landen waarmee de Europese Unie geen vrijhandelsovereenkomst heeft gesloten en die onder het systeem van de teruggave of vrijstelling van douanerechten vallen.
1b. In applying paragraph 1 , and for a period of five years after the Agreement's entry into force, the Commission shall pay particular attention to finished products from the Republic of Korea being imported into the European Union at an increased rate where such an increase is attributable to increased use in the finished products of parts or components imported into the Republic of Korea from third countries which have not concluded a free trade agreement with the European Union and which are covered by the provisions for customs duty drawback or exemption from customs duty.

6. Urges the Commission to lay down criteria in conjunction with Member States for the prodcution and use of high-quality compost and to adopt minimum requirements for end products, in accordance with Article 6 of the Waste Framework Directive, which permits quality-grading covering different types of use for the various types of compost obtained through the treatment of bio-waste in the framework of a strategy based on an integrated approach ensuring not only quality but also product traceability and safe use;

3. Met het oog op de toepassing van artikel 55, lid 6, van Verordening (EG) nr. 1182/2007 worden met de regels inzake de minimumkenmerken van het voor verwerking geleverde basisproduct en de minimumkwaliteitseisen voor de eindproducten die van toepassing blijven op de basisproducten die zijn geoogst op het grondgebied van lidstaten die gebruik maken van de overgangsregeling van artikel 68 ter of artikel 143 ter quater van Verordening (EG) nr. 1782/2003, de regels bedoeld die vervat zijn in de in artikel 2 van Verordening (EG) nr. 1182/2007 bedoelde handelsnormen en in de in bijlage XVIII opgenomen verordeningen van de Commissie.
3. For the purposes of Article 55(6) of Regulation (EC) No 1182/2007, the rules on the minimum characteristics of the raw material supplied for processing and minimum quality requirements for finished products which shall remain applicable in respect of the raw materials harvested in the territory of Member States which make use of the transitional arrangement under Article 68b or Article 143bc of Regulation (EC) No 1782/2003 shall be, in addition to any relevant marketing standards as referred to in Article 2 of Regulation (EC) No 1182/2007, those contained in the Commission Regulations listed in Annex XVIII.
