Een Europese coöperatieve vennootschap kan alleen bestaan als ook de nationale uitvoeringsbepalingen onderling zijn aangepast, anders zou onder het begrip Europese coöperatieve vennootschap in iedere lidstaat sprake zijn van een ander type Europese coöperatieve vennootschap.
A European Cooperative Society can only exist if national implementing provisions are harmonised, otherwise the European Cooperative Society would assume different forms in each Member State.
