TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

Nuttige instrumenten in dit verband zijn (a) de politieke dialoog tussen de EU en de ACS-landen in het kader van de Overeenkomst van Cotonou, met name artikel 13 daarvan; (b) de politieke dialoog met de partners van de EU in het Middellandse-Zeegebied; (c) de dialoog met en tussen (sub)regionale organisaties, zoals de Economische Gemeenschap van West-Afrikaanse Staten (ECOWAS) en de Afrikaanse Unie (AU); en (d) specifieke ad hoc ontplooide regionale initiatieven, zoals de conferentie van Rabat.
Relevant frameworks include (a) the political dialogue under the Cotonou Agreement between EU and ACP countries, notably its Article 13; (b) the political dialogue with the EU´s Mediterranean partners; (c) dialogue with and between (sub) regional organisations, including the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the African Union (AU); and (d) specific ad hoc regional initiatives such as the Rabat conference.

On 29 March 2011, pursuant to Article 96 of the ACP-EU Partnership Agreement, consultations started with Guinea-Bissau in the presence of representatives of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States, including the African Union, Economic Community of West African States (Ecowas) and the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP) during which representatives of the Guinea-Bissau government presented satisfactory proposals and undertakings.

Instructs its President to forward this resolution to the the Council, Commission, the European Economic and Social Committee, the Committee of the Regions, the governments and parliaments of the Member States, the Secretariats of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States, ECOWAS, the African Union, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the Sub-Regional Fisheries Commission and the Fisheries Committee for the Eastern Central Atlantic, the governments of all ECOWAS countries, as well as Mauritania and Cameroon.

10. is verheugd over het op 3 maart 2009 genomen besluit van de Economische Gemeenschap van West-Afrikaanse Staten (ECOWAS) om een ministeriële delegatie naar Guinee-Bissau te zenden, met ministers uit Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Kaapverdië, Gambia en Senegal, vergezeld door de voorzitter van de ECOWAS Commissie, en over eenzelfde besluit van dezelfde datum van de Gemeenschap van Portugeessprekende landen (CPLP) om een politieke missie naar Guinee-Bissau te zenden onder leiding van de Portugese staatssecretaris van buitenlandse zaken en ontwikkelingssamenwerking, welke beide missies alle partijen hebben willen betrekken bij een poging het vertrouwen tussen de politieke actoren, de veiligheidsdiensten en het maatschappelijk middenveld te herstellen en het land terug te voeren naar normale constitutionele verhoudingen;

Welcomes the decision taken on 3 March 2009 by ECOWAS to despatch a ministerial delegation to Guinea-Bissau, comprising ministers from Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, the Gambia and Senegal, accompanied by the President of the ECOWAS Commission, and the similar decision taken the same day by the CPLP to send a political mission to Guinea-Bissau, led by Portuguese Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, both involving all stakeholders in an effort to restore confidence among political actors, security forces and civil society and return the country to constitutional normality;
