Daarnaast onderzoekt de Commissie hoe politieke en financiële steun kan worden verleend aan het regionale initiatief inzake de illegale exploitatie van natuurlijke rijkdommen van de Internationale Conferentie over het gebied van de Grote Meren, waartoe ook het opzetten behoort van een regeling voor het certificeren van in de regio ingekochte conflictvrije delfstoffen.
