(b) alle gevangen aal: - wordt uitgezet in Europese binnenwateren die in verbinding staan met de zee, teneinde het ontsnappingsniveau van volwassen schieraal te verhogen, of - wordt gebruikt voor aquacultuur in de Europese Unie, op voorwaarde dat een door de Commissie vast te stellen percentage van in de aquacultuur gebruikte aal wordt gebruikt voor het kweken en uitzetten van rode aal in Europese binnenwateren die in verbinding staan met de zee, teneinde het ontsnappingsniveau van volwassen schieraal te verhogen, en
(b) all the eel captured: - are released into European inland waters having access to the sea for the purpose of increasing the escapement levels of adult silver eels or - are used for aquaculture in the European Union, subject to the condition that a percentage, to be determined by the Commission, of the eel used in aquaculture is used for the breeding of and restocking with yellow eels in European inland waters communicating with the sea, in order to increase the escape rate of mature silver eels; and

For the purposes of this Directive, the Classification of European Inland Waterways set out in UNECE Resolution No 30 of 12 November 1992 shall apply.

Deze richtlijn is van toepassing op de invoering en het gebruik van RIS op alle binnenwateren die overeenkomstig VN/ECE-resolutie nr. 30 van 12 november 1992 betreffende de classificering van de Europese binnenwateren, tot klasse IV of hoger behoren, en op de havens waarnaar wordt verwezen in Beschikking nr. 1346/2001/EG van het Europees Parlement en de Raad van 22 mei 2001 tot wijziging van Beschikking nr. 1692/96/EG ten aanzien van zeehavens, binnenhavens en intermodale terminals alsmede ten aanzien van project nr. 8 in bijlage III.
1. This Directive applies to the implementation and operation of RIS on all inland waterways of class IV and above according to the Classification of European Inland Waterways provided for in UN/ECE Resolution No 30 of 12 November 1992 including the ports referred to in Decision No 1346/2001/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 May 2001 amending Decision 1692/96/EC as regards seaports, inland ports and intermodal terminals as well as project No 8 in Annex III.

Deze richtlijn is van toepassing op de invoering en het gebruik van RIS op alle binnenwateren die tot klasse IV of hoger behoren die via een vaarweg van klasse IV of hoger een verbinding hebben met een vaarweg van klasse IV of hoger van een andere lidstaat, en op de havens in zulke vaarwateren waarnaar wordt verwezen in Beschikking nr. 1346/2001/EG van het Europees Parlement en de Raad van 22 mei 2001 tot wijziging van Beschikking nr. 1692/96/EG ten aanzien van zeehavens, binnenhavens en intermodale terminals alsmede ten aanzien van project nr. 8 in bijlage III. Voor deze richtlijn geldt de classificatie van Europese binnenwateren die is vastgesteld in resolutie nr. 30 van 12 november 1992 van UNECE.

This Directive applies to the implementation and operation of RIS on all inland waterways of the Member States of class IV and above which are linked by a waterway of class IV or above to a waterway of class IV or above of another Member State, including the ports on such waterways as referred to in Decision No 1346/2001/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 May 2001 amending Decision 1692/96/EC as regards seaports, inland ports and intermodal terminals as well as project No 8 in Annex III.
