Het goedgekeurde Europees pact voor de jeugd vormt een aanvulling op het werk dat actief burgerschap onder jongeren met behulp van de open-coördinatiemethode stimuleert. Door het pact hebben de belangen van jongeren een plaats gekregen in het beleid dat in het kader van het partnerschap voor de verwezenlijking van de Lissabon-agenda voor groei en werkgelegenheid wordt gevoerd. Notes that, in the light of the discussions in Parliament, the Heads of State and Government of the euro area agreed at their meeting of 11 March 2011, in the context of the pact for the euro, that the Commission should play a strong central role in the monitoring of the implementation of the commitments, in particular so as to ensure that measures are compatible with, and supportive of, the EU rules and the involvement of Parliament; notes that, in their consideration of the general features for the European stability mechanism, they agreed that assistance provided to a Member State whose currency is the euro will be based on a stringent programme of economic and fiscal adjustment and on a rigorous debt sustainability analysis conducted by the Commission and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), in liaison with the ECB;
