De Commissie heeft het referentielaboratorium van de Europese Unie (EU-RL) voor dioxinen en pcb’s in levensmiddelen en diervoerders verzocht de invloed van de verschillende extractiemethoden op de gehalten aan dioxinen en pcb’s in schapenlever te onderzoeken, met het oog op het rapporteren van het analyseresultaat op vetbasis dan wel op basis van vers gewicht.
The European Union Reference Laboratory (EURL) for dioxins and PCBs in Feed and Food was requested by the Commission to investigate how different extraction methods influence the levels of dioxins and PCBs in sheep liver with regard to reporting the analytical result on fat or wet weight basis.

De EU-RL LC-MS/MS-methode is de referentiemethode voor het detecteren van mariene toxines als bedoeld in sectie VII, hoofdstuk V, punt 2, onder c), d) en e), van bijlage III bij Verordening (EG) nr. 853/2004.
The EU-RL LC-MS/MS method shall be the reference method for the detection of marine toxins as referred to in Chapter V(2)(c), (d) and (e) of Section VII of Annex III, to Regulation (EC) No 853/2004.

Er is een vloeistofchromatografiemassaspectrometriemethode (LC-MS/MS) gevalideerd bij een daartoe verricht interlaboratoriumonderzoek, waarbij het referentielaboratorium van de Europese Unie voor mariene biotoxines (EU-RL) een coördinerende rol heeft gespeeld.
A liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method was validated under the coordination of the European Union Reference Laboratory on marine biotoxins (EU-RL) in an inter-laboratory validation study carried out by the Member States.

Ook andere erkende methoden dan de vloeistofchromatografiemassaspectrometrietechniek kunnen voor de detectie van lipofiele toxines worden gebruikt, mits zij voldoen aan de prestatiecriteria die door het EU-RL zijn vastgesteld.
Any other recognised method, different from the liquid chromatography (LC) mass spectrometry (MS), could be applied for the detection of lipophilic toxins provided that they fulfil the method performance criteria stipulated by the EU-RL.

Daarnaast moet de aanvrager testresultaten van de grondstoffenleveranciers overleggen, gebaseerd op de „VdL-RL 03”-methode „In-blik formaldehydgehalte vastgesteld aan de hand van de acetyl-aceton-methode” (VdL-richtsnoer 03), alsmede berekeningen waarbij de gegevens van deze tests worden gerelateerd aan het eindproduct om aan te tonen dat de hoogst mogelijke eindconcentratie van het formaldehyd dat vrijkomt uit formaldehydafgevende stoffen in het product niet hoger is dan 0,001 massaprocent.
In addition the applicant shall provide test results from raw materials suppliers using the VdL-RL 03 test method (VdL Guide-line03) ‘In-can concentration of formaldehyde determined by the acetyl-acetone method’ and calculations relating the data from these tests to the final product in order to indicate that the final maximum possible concentration of formaldehyde released by formaldehyde releasing substances is not higher than 0,001 % (m/m).
