De heer Fischler noemde deze hervorming van het GLB een verdere stap in de richting van een beleid waarbij mensen veeleer dan producten worden ondersteund en waarbij de landbouwers niet alleen voor hun productie worden beloond, maar ook voor hun verdere dienstverlening aan de samenleving, vooral als natuurbeheerders.
CAP reform, added Mr Fischler, is a further step towards supporting people rather than products and compensating farmers not only for their production but also for their additional contribution towards society, in particular as guardians of the countryside.
