TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

26. verheugt zich over de totstandkoming van een nieuwe regering na een lange periode van impasse en mislukte pogingen om een nieuwe regering te vormen op 4 en 13 januari 2016; dringt er bij de politieke actoren in Moldavië op aan onmiddellijk vaart te zetten achter het hervormingsproces, in het belang van de hele Moldavische bevolking en ook om te voldoen aan de eisen van de Wereldbank en het Internationale Monetaire Fonds (IMF); pleit voor het vermijden van de grimmige geopolitieke gevolgen van een verdere politieke crisis en herinnert de Moldavische partijen aan de noodzaak om de politieke stabiliteit te versterken zodat een duurzaam succes van de hervormingen kan worden gegarandeerd en hoopt dat de nieuwe regering aanzienlijke resultaten zal kunnen boeken;

Welcomes the creation of a new government after a long period of stalemate and unsuccessful attempts to form a government on 4 and 13 January 2016; urges the political forces in Moldova to accelerate without further delay the reform process for the benefit of all Moldovans, including in order to comply with the demands of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF); encourages avoidance of the dire geopolitical consequences of a further political crisis and reminds the Moldovan parties of the need to enhance political stability in order to guarantee a sustainable success of the reforms and hopes that the new government will be able to deliver substantial results;

Notes that although economic growth in Turkey slowed in 2008, its overall economic performance demonstrated that the foundations and resilience of the Turkish economy are substantially stronger than some years ago; notes that the impact of the global financial crisis on the Turkish banking system has remained limited so far, but is concerned about the effect of the crisis on economic growth; asks the Commission to report specifically on the consequences of the crisis for the Turkish economy; encourages the Turkish government to continue its close cooperation with the International Monetary Fund and other international and European financial institutions;

Reforms should include internal procedures and should ensure that the key conclusions of IMF surveillance are fed into the International Monetary and Financial Council. Developing the World Bank and Regional Development Banks: The banks should implement the instruments at their disposal in a flexible manner to frontload assistance to mitigate the effects of the crisis, particularly for vulnerable populations.
