Momenteel bestaat er in de EU geen regeling voor de uitwisseling van informatie en waarschuwingen in verband met de bescherming van kritieke infrastructuur, doch in 2006 heeft de Commissie een richtlijn voorgesteld inzake de inventarisatie van Europese kritieke infrastructuur, de aanmerking van infrastructuur als Europese kritieke infrastructuur en de beoordeling van de noodzaak de bescherming van dergelijke infrastructuur te verbeteren (COM(2006) 787 definitief).
No provisions on the exchange of information and alerts in the field of critical infrastructure protection currently exist in the EU, although the Commission did, in 2006, propose a Directive on the identification and designation of European Critical Infrastructure (ECI) and the assessment of the need to improve their protection (COM(2006) 787 final).

7. onderstreept dat de Europese structuurfondsen, het cohesiefonds en ook de middelen voor de plattelandsontwikkeling coherent voor het bereiken van de doelstellingen van het nationale strategische kaderplan moeten worden ingezet en dat derhalve de doelstellingen van de plattelandsontwikkeling een deel van dit kaderplan moeten zijn; dringt erop aan dat het nationale kaderplan de resultaten van fora over een op zichzelf staande regionale ontwikkeling waaraan lokale werkgelegenheidspacten deelnemen of die daardoor worden uitgevoerd, integreert en dat bij de voorbereiding van de opstelling van dit plan stimulering door middel van de technische bijstand plaatsvindt (artikelen 21, 43 en 44);
