Tijdens de vergadering van 19 en 20 december 2013 heeft de Europese Raad de Commissie verzocht om tegen juni 2015 in samenwerking met de lidstaten een EU-strategie voor het Alpengebied (EUSALP) op te stellen, steunend op de stevige samenwerkingsbasis in het Alpengebied.
