Er bestaat actueel een internationale accreditatie, met name de FAHCT (Foundation for the Accreditation of Hematopoietic Cell Therapy), die zeer strenge criteria hanteert en enkel banken erkent die een strenge internationale inspectie en audit hebben doorstaan.
