De Commissie REGI heeft in haar strategie onder de titel Mission Statement on Promoting Gender Equality in the work of the Committee toegezegd gendergelijkheid te zullen bevorderen in haar interne werkzaamheden door aan fracties te vragen er (waar mogelijk) voor te zorgen dat het aantal vrouwen in de commissie een afspiegeling vormt van het aantal vrouwen in het Parlement en dat deze verhouding ook wordt aangehouden bij het benoemen van de leden van het bureau en van de coördinatoren van de commissie.
