41 (1) A judge of a superior court who attends a meeting, conference or seminar that is held for a purpose relating to the administration of justice and that the judge in the capacity of a judge is required by law to attend, or who, with the approval of the chief justice of that court, attends any such meeting, conference or seminar that the judge in that capacity is expressly authorized by law to attend, is entitled to be paid, as a conference allowance, reasonable travel and other expenses actually incurred by the judge in so attending.

36. Calls on the Commission to continue its efforts to ensure that the US law requiring scanning of 100% of inbound cargo is either modified or implemented by the US administration so to ensure that no new trade barriers are created which will impose significant costs on economic operators, without providing any benefits in terms of supply chain security; believes that the TEC could usefully organise seminars on the 100% scanning issue in Brussels and Washington in order to foster a deeper understanding between US and EU legislators and to promote an early and mutually acceptable resolution of this problem;

With a view to making all practitioners in the field of Community financial law aware of that need, the Directorate-General for Financial Control and the Legal Service of the Commission of the European Communities are organizing in Brussels from 27 to 29 November a seminar on: "The legal protection of the Community's financial interests" The seminar, which is to be held under the auspices of Mr Peter Schmidhuber, Member of the Commission responsible for financial control, will be addressed by speakers from the Community institutions, national administrations and political, legal and scientific circles.
