1. Welcomes, following the position adopted by the African Heads of State who met in Abuja on 12 November 2004, the Security Council's resolution to impose an immediate embargo on arms which, unless the parties take action in accordance with the agreements, provides for a freeze on financial assets and restrictions on travel abroad of any person who continues to threaten the peace process and national reconciliation in the country, and which demands that the Ivoirian authorities stop all radio and television broadcasting inciting hatred, intolerance and violence;
1. se félicite, après la prise de position des chefs d'État africains réunis à Abuja le 12 novembre 2004, de la résolution du Conseil de sécurité imposant un embargo immédiat sur les armes, prévoyant, sauf si les parties s'engagent dans le respect des accords, le gel des avoirs financiers et une restriction des déplacements à l'étranger de toute personne qui continuerait à menacer le processus de paix et de réconciliation nationale dans le pays et exigeant des autorités ivoiriennes qu'elles mettent un terme à toute émission de radio et de télévision incitant à la haine, à l'intolérance et à la violence;

The enacting legislation following the decision taken by the South African Parliament on 23.9.93 for the TEC and other transitional structures (such as the Independent Electoral Commission, the Independent Broadcasting Authority, etc.) will not, however, become operational until agreement has been reached on the Transitional Constitution.
