The longer sex offenders go offence-free in the community, the less likely they are to eventually reoffend; so if someone has been offence-free for 10 or 15 years in the community, their probability of committing a new sex crime becomes very similar to the rate of committing a new sex crime you would find among anyone convicted of a sex offence or anyone from Correctional Service of Canada.
