Bearing in mind that, since the adoption of the Treaty of Maastricht, Europeans are required not only to find common positions and work together, but also to act ‘in a spirit of loyalty and mutual solidarity’, and given that the Commission President recently spoke of the need to comply with the European duty of showing loyalty to each other, could it not be said that Aznar’s stance on the war in Iraq is disloyal to the common European position?
Étant entendu que, d'une part, les Européens sont tenus, depuis l'adoption du traité de Maastricht, non seulement de rechercher des positions communes et de travailler ensemble mais également d'agir "dans un esprit de loyauté et de solidarité mutuelle" et que, d'autre part, le Président de la Commission a rappelé récemment au devoir européen de loyauté mutuelle, la position d'Aznar sur la guerre en Irak ne saurait-elle être considérée comme déloyale à l'égard de la position commune européenne?
