Mr. Speaker, I am pleased to have this opportunity to speak to Bill C-573, calling on the government to designate the second day of April in each and every year as the National Pope John Paul II Day. Pope John Paul II is without doubt a figure who has a strong influence, not just here in Canada, but in the rest of the world as well.
Monsieur le Président, je me réjouis d’avoir l’occasion de participer au débat sur le projet de loi C-573, qui invite le gouvernement à désigner le 2 avril de chaque année Journée nationale du pape Jean-Paul II. Le pape Jean-Paul II a été sans aucun doute une personnalité très influente non seulement au Canada, mais aussi dans le reste du monde.
