12. Commends particularly the efforts of former minister Sherry Rehman and the late Minister for Minorities, Shahbaz Bhatti, to amend the blasphemy laws in order to prevent their misuse and calls on the Government to repeal these laws as well as other discriminatory legislation, inter alia Section 295 B and C of the Penal Code, which are relics of the past; urges the Government of Pakistan as well to enforce existing legislation such as Article 137 of the Penal Code, which makes hate speech a crime;
12. salue particulièrement les efforts déployés par l'ex-ministre Sherry Rehman et feu Shahbaz Bhatti pour modifier les lois relatives au blasphème en sorte d'empêcher les abus et invite le gouvernement à abroger ces lois au même titre que d'autres textes législatifs discriminatoires, notamment l'article 295, sections B et C, du code pénal, qui sont des reliques du passé; prie instamment le gouvernement du Pakistan de veiller au respect des textes législatifs en vigueur, comme l'article 137 du code pénal, aux termes duquel l'incitation à la haine est un délit;

8. Regards the amendment to Article 301 of the Penal Code, presented by the government to the parliament, as merely a first step towards a fundamental reform of that article as well as other articles of the Penal Code, and urges the government and the parliament to carry out this reform without delay so that none of the articles in question can any longer be used for the purpose of placing arbitrary restrictions on freedom of expression; deplores the fact that no progress has been achieved regarding freedom of expression, and that the number of persons prosecuted under legal provisions allowing for arbitrary restrictions on the expression of non-violent opinion has further increased in 2007; underlines that, once the urgently needed modification of Article 301 has been completed, further legislative and implementation steps will be required in order to ensure that Turkey fully guarantees freedom of expression and press freedom in line with the standards enshrined in the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR);
8. voit dans l'amendement à l'article 301 du code pénal, présenté par le gouvernement au parlement, simplement un premier pas dans la voie d'une réforme fondamentale de cet article ainsi que d'autres articles du code pénal, et demande instamment au gouvernement et au parlement de la Turquie de mener à bien sans tarder cette réforme en sorte qu'aucun des articles en question ne puisse plus être utilisé aux fins d'édicter des restrictions arbitraires de la liberté d'expression; déplore le fait qu'aucun progrès n'ait été réalisé quant à la liberté d'expression et que le nombre de personnes poursuivies sur la base de dispositions juridiques autorisant des restrictions arbitraires à l'expression d'opinions non violentes a encore augmenté en 2007; souligne que, une fois effectuée la modification qu'il est nécessaire d'apporter d'urgence à l'article 301, d'autres mesures législatives et de mise en œuvre seront nécessaires pour assurer que la Turquie garantisse pleinement la liberté d'expression et la liberté de la presse, conformément aux normes consacrées par la Convention européenne des droits de l'homme (CEDH);

13. Deplores the fact that a number of people are still being prosecuted under Article 301 of the Penal Code, and urges the government and the newly elected parliament to make sure that all provisions of the Penal Code allowing for arbitrary restrictions on the expression of non-violent opinions are removed and that freedom of expression and freedom of press are guaranteed; regards this as a number-one priority for the new government;
13. déplore que plusieurs personnes continuent de faire l'objet de poursuites au titre de l'article 301 du Code pénal turc et invite instamment le gouvernement turc et le parlement nouvellement élu à réviser la loi existante à veiller à ce que toutes les dispositions du code pénal permettant de restreindre arbitrairement l'expression d'opinions non violentes soient abrogées et à garantir la liberté d'expression et de la presse; considère qu'il doit s'agir d'une priorité de tout premier plan pour le nouveau gouvernement;
