The Committee proceeded to the consideration of the following Forty-eight hours notice motions submitted by Ghislain Lebel, M.P. on March 12, 2002: That the Standing Committee on Transport and Government Operations invite Jean Brault, the President of Groupaction Marketing, to appear before the committee to tell us what contracts were obtained from Public Works and Government Services and what was contained in the report on the study of ways to increase federal government visibility and in the report concerning the production of a list of 1,300 cultural events.

That the Standing Committee on Transport and Government Operations invite the former official of the Department of Public Works and Government Services, Chuck Guité, to appear before it to inform us about the contracts his department awarded to Groupaction Marketing, the content of the report on the study of ways to increase federal government visibility and the content of the report on the production of a list of 1,300 cultural events.

16. Agrees with the Commission that stakeholder involvement in maritime policy-making should also be enshrined more permanently in governance structures; invites to this end all coastal Member States which have not as yet done so to designate as soon as possible national contact points for IMP; thereby responding positively to the Commission's request; stresses the necessity to activate this operational network as soon as possible; supports the formation of a cross-sectoral platform for stakeholder dialogue on maritime affairs; asks for arrangements to be introduced for a concrete partnership between the Commission and the Regions, reiterates its support for the European Maritime Day,and asks for further consideration to be given to provisions for information for EU citizens and public participation regarding all aspects of the IMP;
16. convient avec la Commission que la participation des parties intéressées à l'élaboration de la politique maritime devrait être intégrée de manière plus permanente au sein des structures de gouvernance; invite à cette fin tous les États membres côtiers qui ne l’ont pas encore fait, à désigner, dans les plus brefs délais, des points de contact nationaux pour la PMI, en apportant ainsi une réponse positive à la demande de la Commission; souligne la nécessité d'activer au plus vite ce réseau opérationnel; soutient la formation d'une plate-forme intersectorielle pour le dialogue des parties intéressées sur les questions maritimes; demande l'introduction de dispositions en vue d'un partenariat concret entre la Commission et les régions et réitère son soutien en faveur de la Journée européenne de la mer, et demande qu'une importance accrue soit accordée à la fourniture d'informations aux citoyens de l'UE et au souci de garantir la participation du public à l'ensemble des aspects de la PMI;

Is concerned about the way in which the transition from the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) to the new International Civilian Office will be managed; reminds UNMIK that it should remain engaged in Kosovo until the new Office is organised and fully operational; invites the UN and the EU to devise means to prevent further loss of international expertise in crucial areas of administration, particularly in view of the fact that Kosovo's Provisional Institutions of Self-Government will need time and assistance to take over certain legislative and executive powers from UNMIK;
