The Commission is already giving its support to the production of wind, solar and biomass energy, small hydroelectric stations and geothermal energy, that is all sources of renewable energy, with the exception of large hydraulic power stations, which we feel we should not support because they have sufficient options available to them. Furthermore, they have some extremely negative aspects from an environmental point of view, as constructing a dam always involves flooding a valley.
La Commission accorde déjà son soutien à la production d'énergie éolienne, solaire, géothermique, de biomasse, de petites centrales hydroélectriques, autrement dit, toutes les sources d'énergies renouvelables, exception faite des grandes centrales hydroélectriques qu'il ne convient pas, selon nous, de soutenir car elles disposent de suffisamment de possibilités et elles présentent certains aspects extrêmement négatifs du point de vue environnemental puisque la construction d'un barrage implique toujours l'inondation d'une vallée.
