(10)Following the deterioration in Tunisia’s economic and financial situation, the IMF and Tunisia have started discussions on a successor arrangement of a larger amount, which could take the form of an Extended Financing Facility ('IMF programme') and would likely cover a period of four years, starting in the Spring of 2016.

3.The release of the Union's macro-financial assistance shall be managed by the Commission in a manner consistent with the agreements or understandings reached between the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Tunisia, and with the key principles and objectives of economic reforms set out in the EU-Tunisia Association Agreement agreed under the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP).
3.La Commission gère le décaissement de l'assistance macrofinancière de l'Union, dans le respect des accords ou autres conventions conclus entre le Fonds monétaire international (FMI) et la Tunisie, ainsi que des principes et objectifs fondamentaux de la réforme économique énoncés dans le programme d’association entre l'Union et l'Ukraine arrêté dans le cadre de la politique européenne de voisinage (PEV).

In this context, and following the completion of the sixth review of the IMF programme last September, Tunisia requested a successor arrangement with the IMF, which is currently under negotiation and expected to be sent for IMF Board approval by mid-2016.

However, full implementation of the Georgia and Tunisia operations depends on compliance with policy conditions set out in the corresponding memoranda of understanding and a satisfactory track record with the implementation of the IMF programme.
