The other thing that is really important to remember is that while you may think those numbers of deaths are not significant in the whole scheme of things in terms of maternal deaths from a numbers perspective, for every woman who dies and more to the point, when we start getting into what we can do for those where we are providing effective interventions there are another approximately 20 to 30 women whose lives are seriously compromised with problems such as obstetric fistula.
