This arose because of a growing problem of retention of government employees, and the potential for a massive loss of senior public servants who were approaching retirement age. During the last year the Committee has continued to monitor public service issues through its discussions with the President of the Public Service Commission regarding ongoing efforts by the government to retain public service employees and to attract new recruits.
