I did not think it was reasonable to explain to Member States that we would have a President elected for two and a half years, and therefore that the Presidency of the Council, rotating every six months, would remain, but would be virtual and that, at the same time, we would be removing the right for each country to have a Commissioner.
Il me semblait peu raisonnable d’expliquer aux États membres qu’on aura un président élu pour 2 ans et demi, donc que la Présidence du Conseil, tous les six mois, restera mais sera virtuelle et que, dans le même temps, on leur retire un commissaire européen par pays.
