It just boggles my mind that after all we've been through as a country with scandals and breach of trust, the crisis of confidence that Canadians now have in their institutions, and the breaking of rules willy nilly by the Radwanski affair and the various Guité's of the world, how could it be that when new rules are put in place you would choose to bypass them? I honestly expected you to come here before this committee with some mea culpas and to say simply, “Look, in the haste of trying to fill this position, we got carried away and reversed the order of things”, etc.
Je n'en reviens pas, qu'après tout ce que le pays a traversé de scandales et d'abus de confiance, compte tenu du peu de confiance que les Canadiens ont envers leurs institutions, de la violation des règles dans l'affaire Radwanski, et de tous les Guité du monde, comment pouvez-vous, après l'établissement de nouvelles règles, décider de les contourner?
