IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS
I would like to pay a special tribute to the nurses of Humber River Regional Hospital in York West for the wonderful job they do, and especially to Cathy, my daughter, an emergency nurse at Humber Hospital.

She saw only the nurses, nurses doing wonderful work.

We must take into consideration the revenues and the salaries, and you do say that nurses earn less that physicians, but on the other hand, if you add that a nurse earns $63,000 because she works 40 hours, while the physician earns between $90,000 and $130,000 because he or she works 60 hours, one has to wonder whether they wouldn't earn the same salary if the nurse was working 60 hours.

Ms Connors: We have wonderful international working relationships with many nurses and groups who do the bargaining for nurses in the United States.

I do know of others in my circumstance — again, wonderful nurses, who do not have my Cape Breton stubbornness, or whatever it is that sustains me — who have gone through their period of long-term disability with some attempts to improve, but not much support, and so they have left the hospital and have found other employment in nursing, but are not still working for the same employer.
