A reduction in the amount of the monthly increases for cereals, rice, olive oil and oilseeds; . an adjustment in the intervention system in force for beef/veal with a view to eliminating certain provisions which help to promote very heavy offers to intervention; . an extension of the use of the Community classification scale for beef/veal to the private storage aid scheme; . an improvement in the system of advanced fixing of the aid amount for soya beans, given the importance this product has assumed in the Community. - 4 - (c) QUALITY STANDARDS . Retention of the price increase granted for breadmaking rye and wheat; . retention of the bonus to be applied to the intervention price for double-zero rapeseed.

An interrelated set of measures ------------------------------- On the other hand, the approach advocated by the Commission has the following points: - a restrictive policy on prices, i.e. properly related to the market situation and advoiding fundamental changes in the prices relationships between cereals and other agricultural products competing with them in crop rotations; combined with: - a producer's coresponsibility levy; - a policy on quality; -adjustment of intervention mechanisms (a) the coresponsibility levy ------------------------- To reduce the cost of the budget of cereals and bring home to farmers the real situation on the market, a levy would be charged to each farmer on that part of this production which is marketed or sent to intervention.
