By 31 July each year, the Commission shall publish in the Official Journal of the European Communities a call for proposals for information measures specifying, inter alia, the priority topics, types of measure and target audiences, the means of implementing them, the deadlines for submitting proposals, the period allowed for implementing the operations involved in the measures, the eligibility requirements, the selection and award criteria, the eligible costs and the method for evaluating applications with a view to awarding grants.

The substantial revision of the FATF recommendations on money laundering and terrorist financing led the Commission to adopt on 30 June 2004 this proposal, which, in addition, provides a definition of serious offences, an issue that was left open in the previous two directives.

Proposal for a Council Regulation of 14 July 2004 laying down general provisions on the European Regional Development Fund, the European Social Fund and the Cohesion Fund [COM(2004) 492 final - Not published in the Official Journal]. In July 2004, the Commission presented a package of proposals for reforming regional policy after 1 January 2007. The basis of the reform is set out in the general provisions given in this document, which accompanies the other specific documents for the two Structural Funds (ERDF and ESF), the Cohesion Fund and the new European grouping of cross-border cooperation.

Proposal for a Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on the harmonisation of the laws, regulations and administrative provisions of the Member States concerning credit for consumers [COM(2002) 443 - Official Journal C 331 E, 31.12.2002]. This proposal seeks to repeal Directive 87/102/EEC by harmonising legislation in the different Member States, with the aim of enhancing consumer protection in relation to cross-border transactions so as to achieve an internal market in the consumer credit sector.
Cette proposition vise à abroger la directive 87/102/CEE en harmonisant la législation dans les différents États membres. L'objectif de cette harmonisation est d'accroître la protection des consommateurs dans les achats transfrontaliers pour réaliser un marché intérieur dans le secteur du crédit à la consommation.
