TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

One of the proposal’s key elements is ‘to better tap into the potential of students and researchers’ by making it easier for them to work in the EU after completing their studies or research. If adopted in its original form, the proposal would increase the right of students to work part-time, raising the permitted number of hours per week from 10 to 20, give members of researchers’ families the right to seek work, and allow students and researchers having completed their studies or research to stay within the territory for 12 months to identify work opportunities. There is also provision for facilitating intra-EU mobility for students and researchers, especially those taking part in Erasmus Mundus or Marie Curie programmes.
L'une des idées essentielles de la proposition est "de mieux utiliser le potentiel que représentent les étudiants et les chercheurs" en leur permettant de travailler dans l'Union européenne après la fin de leurs études ou de leurs recherches. Si la proposition était adoptée dans sa version initiale elle porterait la possibilité, pour les étudiants, de travailler à temps partiel de 10 heures à 20 heures par semaine, elle permettrait aux membres des familles des chercheurs de rechercher du travail et autoriserait les étudiants et les chercheurs, après la fin de leurs études ou de leurs recherches, à rester sur le territoire pendant une période de douze mois pour étudier les possibilités de trouver un emploi. Elle vise également à faciliter et à simplifier la mobilité l'intérieur de l'Union pour les étudiants et les chercheurs, en particulier ceux relevant des programmes Erasmus Mundus ou Marie Curie.

The proposal increases the rights of students to work part-time and allows students and researchers, after finalization of studies/research, to stay on the territory to identify work opportunities for a period of 12 months.

In order to ensure sustainability in the cooperation between the NMI and DI of the participating States and to prepare the next generation of experienced metrology researchers, early-stage researcher mobility grants shall be made available to early-stage researchers from the NMI and DI of participating States to enable them to stay either in an NMI or DI, in an organisation benefiting from a research excellence grant or in another organisation participating in an EMRP research project at its own costs.

These could, for example, be chosen from among the following: the development of human resources for public and private research, more especially the degree of mobility at all levels and the conditions under which researchers from other European countries are able to stay; public investment in basic research; action by Member States to encourage private investment in research, in line with the Commission Communication "More research for Europe: Towards 3% of GDP"; [13] local clustering of research and development resources; government policies to promote scientific knowledge among the public and action to involve citizens in the discussion of research issues.
