After a detailed investigation under Article 66 of the ECSC Treaty (ECSC), under which the European Commission examines concentrations in the coal and steel industries, the Commission has authorised, subject to conditions, the acquisition of Saarbergwerke AG (Saarbergwerke) and Preussag Anthrazit GmbH (Preussag) by RAG Aktiengesellschaft (RAG).
