IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

To enable Europol to continue to fulfil the tasks of Europol as established by Decision 2009/371/JHA to the best of its abilities, transitional measures should be laid down, in particular with regard to the Management Board, the Executive Director and staff employed under a contract of indefinite duration as a local staff member concluded by Europol as established by the Europol Convention, who should be offered the possibility of employment as a member of the temporary or contract staff under the Conditions of Employment of Other Servants.
Pour permettre à Europol de continuer à remplir au mieux les missions d'Europol institué par la décision 2009/371/JAI, il convient de prévoir des mesures transitoires, notamment en ce qui concerne le conseil d'administration, le directeur exécutif et les membres du personnel employés en tant qu'agents locaux dans le cadre d'un contrat à durée indéterminée conclu par Europol institué par la convention Europol, lesquels devraient se voir offrir une possibilité d'emploi en tant qu'agents temporaires ou contractuels au titre du régime applicable aux autres agents.

4. In accordance with the Conditions of Employment of Other Servants, the authority referred to in the first paragraph of Article 6 thereof shall offer employment of indefinite duration as a member of the temporary or contract staff to any person who, on 1 May 2017, is employed under a contract of indefinite duration as a local staff member concluded by Europol as established by the Europol Convention.
4. Conformément au régime applicable aux autres agents, l'autorité visée à son article 6, premier alinéa, propose un contrat d'agent temporaire ou contractuel à durée indéterminée à toute personne employée en tant qu'agent local, au 1er mai 2017, dans le cadre d'un contrat à durée indéterminée conclu par Europol tel qu'institué par la convention Europol.

A staff member who does not accept the offer referred to in this paragraph may retain his or her contractual relationship with Europol in accordance with Article 53(1).

10. The Communication acknowledges that responsibility for educational issues within the system lies primarily with the Member States (represented on the Board of Governors). But it underlines that it (and, by implication, the other EU institutions) have a legitimate interest in ensuring that the schools offer a broad, modern curriculum and examination system, since the quality of the education offered by the schools is important for the recruitment and retention of suitably-qualified staff.
