Thanks to this development, which will allow the provision of a permanent magnetic field (45000 Gauss), and to the implementation of systems with a total power of 25 megawatts for the heating and the maintaining of the plasma current, the investigation of tokamak operation in steady - or quasi-steady - regime will be initiated for the first time.
Grâce à cette réalisation, qui permet de disposer d'un champ permanent (4,5 teslas), et à la mise en oeuvre de dispositifs de chauffage et d'entretien du courant plasma d'une puissance totale de 25 mégawatts, l'étude du fonctionnement d'un tokamak en régime continu ou quasi-continu sera abordée pour la première fois.
